In honor of #throwbackthursday, I’m finally posting this! I’ve had this drafted for months and never really got to hit publish. So here yah go…
Last December, I was asked to photograph Trey & Kristen's BIG day. I've been taking pictures as a hobby for over 10 years but I've never professionally shot a wedding before, so it was pretty nerve-racking to say the least. Also, I didn’t even have the “right” equipment. I only had my trusty 9-year old Rebel DSLR (Rebel T1i), a 50mm 1.8 prime lens and a speedlight that I bought from eBay the last minute after hearing that Glendale is a photographer’s nightmare lighting-wise. And they weren’t kidding, it truly was hard to get crisp shots especially with all the movement. Anyway, I think me & my sidekick, Lauren, did okay considering what we had to work with and the freezing weather.
Fast forward to about 2 months after their wedding, I decided to pursue photography as a career and upgraded my equipment. Had I known, I should’ve done it sooner and I would’ve done a better job capturing Kristen & Trey’s wedding. Oh well, too late for that… but I sure can’t wait to shoot my next wedding! The last few months I’ve spent honing my skills and learning from my favorite photographers/educators like Katelyn James, Amy and Jordan and Jenna Kutcher. I love photographing babies and their milestones, but I’m also a sucker for a good love story and everything wedding-related, so I recently decided to take on weddings!
Y’all, if you know anybody getting married, please send them my way! I’m now booking for 2019! If you’re getting married and still looking for a photographer, I’d like to have the opportunity to blow you away. I may not have a lot of experience just yet (and my pricing will reflect that) but I’m highly capable, so I hope you’ll give me a shot. :)
In the mean time, have a look at some of my favorites from Kristen & Trey’s wedding day. What do y'all think?
